We met Jonathan at the Cruiseport office with our papers that he worked on yesterday and he drove us to the CIS office which is one building housing Immigration, Port Capitan and Customs and the more important Caja or the place where you give up your credit card. We arrived a little after 10 and went to Immigration with only one couple ahead of us. That went fairly quickly but then we had to pay $23.00 for each visa at the CAJA and then go back to Immigration with the receipt where he would stamp our visas and give them to us. During our time at the CAJA, about 10 groups showed up to do the same thing. Fortunately we were able to go to the head of the line to finish with Immigration and then on to the Port Capitan's office where more forms were filled out and more money paid about $26.00. Then back to the CAJA window for the Temporary Import Permit which is where I stood in line for over an hour to get the paperwork done and pay $50.00. Then to Customs where I pushed the button and PASE came up so I just had to fill out a declaration form and was stamped and on our way. All in all it was a 2.5 hour process. Then we walked over and paid our respects to Hussong's Cantina where I was saddened to see that they had removed the trough from the Men's room. Many a time was spent there crossing swords in my youth. Next stop was a bank where I stuck my debit card in the machine hoping that I would see it again. I did as well as $5000 pesos, the max you can get.
Al stopped by the fish market and thinks that he may have a deal on some abalone in the morning and hopefully he will be successful. We are going to depart tomorrow morning about 9am bound for Turtle Bay about a 48 hour run.
