She's a howling!

Well the big Norther that was predicted came roaring in last night and the Port Captain closed the harbor this morning. The boats in the anchorage were rocking and rolling and doing the La Paz waltz. That is where the tide is opposing the wind and the boats are not lining up to the wind as they normally do and they are all lying in different directions. In the marina it is windy, blowing 20+ knots and you can feel the wave action moving the boat around. Fortunately we are being blown off the dock as some boats on the outside are being blown on the dock and have been popping fenders.
Other than that it has been quiet with Penny and me playing Cribbage with Al who is teaching us the fine points. She is kicking my butt and taking my points that I forget to count. She says we are playing "big girl" rules.
It is supposed to start dying down tomorrow afternoon and be nice by the weekend which is the big Subasta. Subasta is Spanish for auction and Club Cruceros and Marina de La Paz sponsor it to provide funds for school kids in the poor area in order to give them an education that they would not be able to get. People donate goods so it is a big swap meet for charity and extremely helpful for the children here.
PD 2 CENTS: Ooohhh, only two things - even at the dock it can be . . ooowww . . rock and rolling. The boats anchored have got to be crazed - just walking down the Malacon today took the hat right off your head.
Oh, and the other is, no matter what anyone tells you - bring more than one sweatshirt and one pair of jeans.
