Manana Land
24 December 2010

Its been a few days since I updated the blog and since we entered Mazatlan. I guess I fell into "Manana". We have been enjoying Mazatlan and have been jumping on buses and heading to wherever they go and end up. Mazatlan is a big town with over 500,000 people. Seems like more than that when you get to the end of the bus line and the density is huge.
We have been to the downtown Mercado and to the historical district where they have free concerts and lots of good restaurants and art vendors selling their wares. Pictures to come.
Here in the marina we have met new cruising friends and ones we had met in La Paz. We have gone to Gus y Gus (pronounced goose goose) to eat dinner and listen to live music which has been very good.
Today, Christmas Eve day, we are headed into town to see the mass of people doing their last minute shopping. Mostly males Penny thinks. Tomorrow there is a pot luck Christmas dinner in the Cruiser's lounge at the marina and I am cooking a side dish of carrots. I bought 2.5 kilos this morning from the vegetable truck. Last night we went to the baseball game and it was a hoot. More on that later.
Penny is ready to go so I will sign off and promise to update the blog and pictures later today or tomorrow.
Merry Christmas to all,
Fred and Penny
