Life in La Cruz
Not sure what we have been doing but time is flying by. We have explored the village, eaten great food for great prices and more than likely I have topped it off with a stop at the ice cream store. The ice cream in Mexico is really good and cheap. Two big scoops for a buck! We have made two day excursions to Sayulita and one day to Puerto Vallarta where I picked up a Telcel Banda Ancha which is an air card for 3g internet for the laptop. The wifi in the marina is really slow to non-existent. It costs $50 dollars and then $499 pesos ($40.00) for 3GB for 30 days. So far it is working great and I am trying to set up an access point on the boat so the Ipad can use it also but may need some technical help.
Last week they had a yoga fest here for 5 days and were well attended by Mexicans and Gringos alike. On the last night they had some chanting in the amphitheatre and Penny and I went to investigate. It was three guys lead by one playing a small instrument that he pumped and keyboarded and another on 2 bongo type drums with the other guy on finger cymbals. It was really interesting as they did this chant and played the instruments for 30 minutes or more nonstop and the crowd was really into it dancing and singing along. As I know nothing about this I think the lead guy was well known. It was incredible and you got into the rhythm.
Last night was fun with a movie in the Amphitheatre where you can bring your own refreshments. They also have a portable bar set up for beer and Margaritas and popcorn, chips and candy bars - the cost of which is nowhere near what it is in the states and attending the movie itself was free. The movie was Capitan Ron with Kurt Russell and it was hilarious.
