Chamela Bay

We arrived in Chamela Bay at 3:00pm and anchored with 13 other boats. We stayed on the boat that afternoon and relaxed and played Cribbage, our new game. The following day we went ashore and checked out the village of Perula. Not much there, a plaza, several small markets, a dive shop, and restaurants. Not much going on but a few gringos in RV's were at a fish restaurant so we thought we would eat there as well. We each had shrimp and it was pretty good and a lot of it for 95 pesos. Penny took off and walked the beach which was probably 6 miles while I went back to the boat and read. The next day we did nothing and didn't even get off the boat. This anchorage is pretty rolly and we had a real rolly night that was uncomfortable.
Next morning we left and headed for a small cove called Paraiso which was about 8 miles away. We found it and no other boats were there and that was lucky as it is a small cove and not many could fit in. We dropped the anchor and set a stern anchor to keep the bow to the swell so we wouldn't roll like last night. It is an idyllic little cove with a small one story hotel with about 6 rooms on the beach. We think there is only one guest there and several workers. There are two islands that block the swell so we took the dinghy for a tour and it was interesting as there were several sea caves and a hole in one island that was big enough to take a dinghy through but I chickened out as there was a little swell on the other side that looked like it could be rough. There were blowholes in the rocks next to us so we heard the noise all night during low tide.
While we were here a small Mexican sport fishing boat came in with a panga in tow and anchored by this little beach and in went an umbrella, several coolers and some people for a picnic. They only stayed for an hour and after they left we went in and took over the beach.
I was successful again in Cribbage. We are starting a new tournament and I am up 2-0 so far. May not last long though.
