Time to Head North
26 February 2011 | Tenacatita to Banderas Bay
Our month and one day was up at the Grand Bay Marina and it was time to start heading North, but first we had to go to Melaque to play in a Cribbage tournament, hence the one extra day stay in the Marina. The tournament was fun and was for a good cause although the dogs that get neutered may not think so. In any event we each played three games with different opponents and we each won one game and lost two so we did not make the cut into the next round. They total the 3 scores and I am happy to say that I beat Penny by 2 points! We really enjoy the game and play at least once or twice a day.
We left the marina the next morning and went to Tenacatita and met up with our friends Ian and Ellen and had them over for a pot roast, mashed potatoes and gravy dinner and a couple of games of dominoes.
The next day we went ashore and played Mexican Train with Ellen and Ian, David and Betsy and Ken before our 1600 departure time. Our plan was to leave in the late afternoon in order to make the 90 miles to Cabo Corrientes by early morning when the wind should be at its lightest. All the weather forecasts predicted 5-9 knots out of the NNE which is the direction we were going putting the wind on the nose as is usual going North. Well predictions are just that and not always accurate but I will let Penny tell it in her words on the next post.
