We are in La Paz again!
18 November 2012 | Marina de La Paz
Fred/ Fabulous weather
We arrived at Marina de La Paz at 9:45 am and got into our slip with no trouble. 2 men came down to handle our lines which makes Penny very happy. We found some old friends and have already started to meet new ones. Checked into the office and then went to check out the new Club Cruceros clubhouse that was finished late summer. Quite an improvement over the old one as it is bigger and, so far there are no termites. They have a huge exchange library as well as a vast DVD collection for check out. 5 peso coffee every morning except Sunday at 9:30 and also a morning cribbage game or two. Quite civilized.
Our first food outing was that afternoon where we introduced the crews of Sun Baby and Sun Baby Too to Tacos Fish, our favorite fish taco stand. Huge piece of fish in a tortilla for 16 pesos and a big table of condiments. Quite nice and filling.
We are getting settled in and checking out things to do while here. We had the bad fortune of watching the Chargers get their a** handed to them by the Broncos but Penny says that we don’t have to worry about them any more as their season is over. Too bad.
We signed up for the big Thanksgiving turkey feast that the Club puts on for 50 pesos each and a side dish to share. This is where we met a lot of people last time that have become very good friends.
Last night was the finish of the Baja 1000 but it was not as wild as 2 years ago as they moved the finish line outside of town.
Tomorrow is Mexican Independence Day and Tuesday is the parade so a few things to look forward to. In fact our week is pretty well booked.
