Off to the Islands
29 November 2012 | Esprito Santo and Isla Partida
Fred/Paradise
We decided to take a few days and go up to Esprito Santo Island which is about 18 to 25 miles north of La Paz. There are 2 islands that really look like one, Esprito Santo and Isla Partida. We decided to go to Ensenada Grande on Isla Partida as we stopped there for a quick overnight 2 years ago. Our dock neighbors spent 4 days there over Thanksgiving and when they came back said it was the best they had seen in years. 84 degree water that was crystal clear, no bugs and little wind. So we decided to go and took off mid morning and arrived there in the early afternoon. There were 5 other boats anchored and we found a nice spot and dropped the anchor. Then we sat and just took in the beauty of the place. The Mexicans have made the islands a national park and it is unspoiled.
Bill and Sun on Sun Baby Too came in a little later and anchored. We had delightful days and nights and I swam in the 80+ degree water. Couldn’t convince Penny to join me as it is not quite her temperature. Perfect for relaxing, reading and playing cribbage where I believe I came out on top. I won’t mention the word skunk.
We spent 3 days there and then came back to La Paz as Penny had an art session on Thursday and I managed to come up with about 12 items on my boat to do list. Also we have a dinner date with some friends for Chinese food and to see their house that they designed and built. They are both architects so it should be interesting to see what they created. Hopefully I will get some pictures.
