2days late a nd 2 sails short

Murphy is alive and well. Our sails that were promised a week ago did not show up in time for the start. Not so bad as the start of the HaHa was in wet and cold conditions with rain most of the first night and probably southerly winds.
After several conversations with the sailmaker in Canada we were expected to get the shipment yesterday. Anxiously following on the tracker we went to DHL yesterday morning at 9:30 and picked up one box. Should have been two but at least this was the main as that was the critical one to replace. So more frustrating calls and emails back and forth to the sailmaker and they assured we would have the jib by 10:30 today. The tracker was showing that the sail made it to LA early and then showed up in SD at 8:40. WooHoo we will be on our way by 11:00.
10:30 came and went so a call to DHL confirmed that the sail was on the truck BUT not for special 10:30 delivery. Just got a call and they say now between 1:30 and 3! Damn, we will lose more time to catchup, but on the bright side, the Northwesterly is filling in and it is sunny so we should be able to make good time. We will keep a 7.5 knot minimum speed so we should be in Turtle Bay on the afternoon of the 1st, probably as the beach party is winding down. Then the start for leg 2 the next day at 8:00 am. We will be ther and be ready to sail fast.
Could be worse that we might have to go to work. Follow up when we get to Cabo.
