Baja HaHa Finale
10 November 2014 | Mango Deck, Cabo San Lucas

This year due to the lost day, the beach party Nd the awards presentation were held together. The usual venue for the beach party was booked for a wedding so our event was held next door at the Mango Deck. We got our rental car at noon and went to Cabo to the Baja Cantina which is Cabo headquarters for the HaHa as we needed to turn in our finish times. We got there about 1 only to find out that the beach party started at 12. So we decided that we should have lunch and then join the party, which we did.
The place was packed and very noisy but we found the Grand Poobah and turned in our paperwork. Patsy said "where have you guys been, you missed roll call and we about to call your loved ones and get them all concerned". We said that we were enjoying a nice quiet time in San Jose and couldn't hear the radio up there. Anyway all was well and we ran into friends and found some chairs. We hadn't missed anything yet so our timing was good.
Richard started the awards but with all the noise it was hard to hear even though we right next to him. He did a great job of trying to get through most of them and then took a break as I'm sure his throat was hurting from trying to yell over the drinking crowd.
In the meantime we were treated to show in which 4 girls were lap dancing a guy so I guess he could pick a winner. One of the girls just ripped her top off and mounted him and started gyrating as the announcer was trying to cover her up. You would think thAt she would of won but the guy chose someone else a little more endowed.
Richard finally got the mic back and finished off the awards. We got 2nd in our division but didn't hear who got first. We were sure we should have been first but you don't know the secret handicapping system. We will have to wait until they publish the winners to see who we lost out to.
Then it was down to the waters edge for the "From Here to Eternity" kissing contest while rolling around in the surf. Shelly and Mike from La Paz Yachts did a great job and was our pick for the winner. After all Shelly had sailed down on the all girl crew with Patsy on Talion and Mike had just arrived from La Paz.
We walked down the beach back to the marina and saw the damage the hurricane had done. Lots of slips were destroyed and some just not useable. They lost about 30%. Back on the boat we ate leftovers for dinner and enjoyed the evening.
Scout decided to stay and extra day so they could get favorable weather for the passage to La Paz. I dropped them off in town and went to the airport to turn in the car and board my flight back home to my honey that I really miss.
Will post a picture album when I get some faster wifi, but a great trip once again.
