Homeward Bound
18 May 2015
After a month in Baja we are headed home. We left Loreto at 0700 and made it all the way to Catavina, a 10 hour drive. We stopped at the Rancho Santa Ynez RV park as recommended by the Church's cruising (camping) guide. Said it had plenty of space with one water spigot, no electric, but flush toilets. The restaurant was good as well. We arrived and paid the $8.00 camping fee and found the water spigot next to a palm tree that provided some shade. Decided that was our spot for the night. Penny had spoken to the owner and requested dinner at 6:00 and was told "Si". Well 6 came and went and the restaurant was all locked up but it was open when we got there. Her husband came out and we introduced ourselves and with many "con mucho gustos", he jumped in his car and took off. Maybe going to the store? Anyway it appeared that we were on our own for dinner so back to the rig where I microwaved Penny's left over potatoes and we made PB&J's.
Then we read and retired for the night as we wanted an early start. 5:30 came and we got up and departed for El Rosario and breakfast at Mama Espinoza's where I sit and write this after fried eggs, bacon, potatoes and refried beans and coffee. Excellent meal and should hold us until we get home this afternoon. So onward and continuing our "Border Bash".
