San Miguel de Allende - Plus Super Bonus!

Penny's Two Cents
OK, so you know all "that stuff" that you always hear about San Miguel de Allende, being so great and all?
Well, guess what, it's true! This city vibrates with charm and energy - art and beauty. And there was a special surprise in store for me today! I happened to walk into the hotel next door to the RV park and lo and behold there is a Writers' Conference & Literary Festival that started today! The conference is featuring guest speakers, the likes of Joyce Carol Oates, NPR's Scott Simon, Gail Sheehy, Luis Urrea (who gave a keynote address that I was able to attend), Lisa See, Patrick Conroy, and other amazing authors!
The outdoor lounge area of the hotel is set up with blankets and pillows scattered all over so you can daydream, or write, or take a nap I suppose! Everyday presents something new and amazing - Fred and I really like it here!! Stand by for a post from Fred later!

We left San Diego on January 16, heading South al gusto - with a sketchy plan written in sand at low tide (that is a quote from my buddy Ellen Gallant!) Mexico lends itself to beautiful photos which we will try to honor.
