No Wind Instruments
04 June 2017
No wind instruments. Many emails to Garmin support.
"GND 10 and WSI are connected to NMEA2000 and GMI 20. Were working last year, but this year there is no connection to the gWind transducer. The DST 200 is working fine.
Product: GNX™ Wireless Wind Pack
When initialized the GMI20 and the GPSMAP 4210 show the wind displays - reading zero. After a while they time out and disappear. The lights on the back of the GND 10 show green for both NMEA2000 and Nexus network. Tried removing and replacing the GND 10 and WSI in various other locations. Also on different locations on the NMEA 2000 backbone. Changed the NMEA cables. Tried re-plugging in the network cable into the WSI. No change. The gWind transducer is there. I can see it moving and the rotor spinning."
At this point they say I have to re-pair the Wind transducer with the GND. Have to be within 3 feet apparently. I tried to go up the mast (with Henry grinding) but it was too windy. Was Quoted $400 for someone else to go up. May leave it for this year. We seem to be sailing fine.
