The reciprocal mooring arrangements between our own Yacht Club (Shelton Yacht Club) and some Canadian clubs, took us to the most fabulous marinas in the Gulf Islands. The Royal Victoria Yacht Club (RVYC) was no exception. We are allowed to stay there for two days per year for only five dollars a day for power. The clubhouse, the dock and the surrounding area are outstanding. The club itself had a myriad of activities going on, such as sailing lessons for youth, paddle boarding, racing for women and so on. We felt privileged to be there.
Besides the prime location, the RVYC is very close to Ted's old friend, Anne, and her husband Lee! Ted and Anne have known each other since their childhood in England, so is very special that they still keep in touch and are good friends. They were in awe to finally get to see "Shuang Yu" after reading about her in our blog for so many years. We prepared a roast chicken meal and they bought sweet, flavorful, fresh fruit for dessert. It was fun evening for all of us.
