Too Many Bananas!

02 August 2013 | Panasia, Louisiades, Papua New Guinea
Katie Thomsen
Each day it seems some type of food we have received must be used before it goes bad. One day it was papayas, other days were pumpkin or lobster.

Today it is the three bunches of bananas hanging from the radar pole at Tenaya's stern. There is one huge bundle of eating and cooking bananas, one hand of tiny sweet bananas and a bunch of cooking bananas. All are much more flavorful than those we find in first world markets. Fried bananas with brown sugar in our porridge. Banana curry for dinner. Two loaves of banana bread. Baggies of bananas in the freezer for smoothies and more bread. If only we had some Nutella!
