We returned to Gitanos in August as she sat waiting for us in Salinas, PR. We concluded many projects including new exterior cushions, new interior cushions, new fridge, rebuilt (and basically re-created freezer), new, larger battery charger/inverter and so much more. Spent good times in Salinas, especially at Sal Pa' Dentro and made lots of trips to provision at Home Depot, Cosco, Wal-Mart and Econo.
Left Salinas to stage in Patillas (about 3 hours away). Ate lunch, took a nap and then around 4 pm headed out for Vieques. Had a lovely motorsail there keeping about 30 degrees off the wind. Picked up a squall in the dark about 5 miles out and dropped the sail. Cruised into Green Beach around 9:30 pm and dropped the hook. Set off around 8 in the morning for our favorite spot on Vieques; Ensenada Honda and dropped the hook there around 12:45. Swam, cleaned the hull and the stern of the boat. Marc on Kusasa joined us in the afternoon. Grilled steaks and then skywatched in the completely dark anchorage (no moon) and saw 8 satellites, 4 meteors and all my favorite constellations...ahh. Left Vieques and arrived in St. Thomas around 1:30 (hit some high 7s on the way - woo hoo!). Sitting in lovely, clear, beautiful Brewer's Bay finalizing some things and will head to St. John tomorrow, then stage in the BVI with hopes of turning the corner to St. Martin on Sunday/Monday.
