Antigua to the ABC islands

Day1
Set off around 9am having worked out that it would take us a little over 4 days, meaning that we would arrive in daylight. Good wind, but the sea between Antigua and Montserrat was very lumpy and confused. Not pleasant at all. We both looked at each other and thought “bloody hell, 4 days of this!” But once we got round Montserrat it all settled down and we had a great sail. 125 miles.
Day2
Cloudy all day. Didn’t see the sun at all, which was a first since arriving in the Caribbean. Winds a bit lighter, but still made good progress.
Day 3
A great days sailing - perfect conditions.
Day 4
Unfortunately, the previous couple of days sailing meant that we were ahead of schedule, and would arrive in the middle of the night. Result was that we took down some sail so that we would go slower. Not ideal but better than arriving in the dark. Very high waves, with a couple breaking into the cockpit! Bit alarming, but arrived safely in Bonaire at first light.
