The Marquesas

After just over a month in Nuku Hiva it is time to leave. We’ve had a great time, and to be honest, the lockdown hasn’t really existed here. It’s a beautiful island, with plenty of walks, and the people have all been friendly, and happy to have us here. A couple of weeks ago, all boats were allowed to travel around and between the islands, so we took the opportunity to sail to the north of the island, to Anaho bay, which was a very quiet secluded anchorage, where we stayed for a few days before heading back to Taiohae to stock up, before heading off to other islands, and then the tuamotos. It seems that all the islands will be opening up around mid July, which would suit us fine, as it will still give us a chance to visit Tahiti and the Society Islands.
Next it was on to Ua Pou, and the anchorage at Hakahetau. Supposed to have good shelter, but boy, was it rolly! Also had some very heavy rain, which we hadn’t seen for some time. Then it was just a matter of waiting for a weather window to the Tuamotos.
