Alabama

RT, Sunny an 80 degrees
The last two days have been uneventful compared to earlier activities. The Tombigbee River is a slow meandering stream with little new and interesting. Just as you get complacent, boom, there is a stunning visual on the next bend. Near Epps Alabama, there are chalk bluffs. The same formation as the white cliffs of Dover. They are quite startling after miles of lowlands and swamp. We passed through this area on Friday and anchored in Rattlesnake Bend: Snakes! It was a nice peaceful anchorage just off the main channel. This morning was an easy hour or so to Demopolis and Kingfisher Marina; a brand new facility where we caught up with a number of other cruisers we had seen on the trip. A couple of days here to recharge, fuel up, pump out, and enjoy. Monday is the lower Tombigbee with few anchorages and fewer marinas for 200 miles. this will be the most remote part of the trip and the most difficult. I will post up a picture of the white cliffs of Epps, in a second post by itself.
