Passage

11 November 2014 | Port St Joe, Florida
We left Pensacola about 1:15 on Monday for a 120 nautical mile passage in the Gulf to Port St Joe. We cannot get under several bridges on the Intracoastal so we had to go outside for this section. We could have ducked into Destin but the pass is not easy without local knowledge and the next stop, Panama City, would have been in the dark of night. Neither of us slept for about 30 or more hours while on the trip. We crashed and took a three hour nap when we tied up in Port St. Joe we spent the night. Today we cruised the Intracoastal to Appalachiacola and are now tied up downtown at the wharf. This is very nice little town that has changed dramatically over the last 16 years. It is now very tourist oriented but very nicely done. Wee need to move on in the morning to try and beat the cold fronts coming through. Appalachiacola Bay can get rough in a good blow. we should be in Carrabelle by noon or so.
