We were unable to head out to the Atlantic Ocean and do a 24 hour run which we were most antisipating, the weather would not hold up and they were calling for 5-7 foot seas(not for us) So we have continued on and spent last night in Topsoil Island N.C. where we enjoyed our surroundings and the boats that were decorated for xmas, It used to be a hold up place for black beard the pirate. The name Topsail Island was derived cause black beard would wait to see the top sails of the ships before raiding them. We are now at a slip in Southport N.C. (Cape Fear) as there ios no place to anchor. Mercury is waiting patiently for us to go to bed so she can wander the wharfs and visit our next boat neighbors. We will untie the dock lines at the first sign of light in the morning (around 6:15 am) and head south to try to get 60 miles in. Wre managed to get 8.8 knots out of the boat today undersail we were most impressed. Have added more pics for yopu to look at.
