sherry, Sunny & warm
We left St. Augustine Fl. at 10:00 hrs after we fueled up and took on water.Just wanted to add a little to last nights blog as i was to exhausted to complete. Heres a little history on St. Augustine Founded in 1565 as a spanish military outpost, St. Augustine Fl. is the oldest con tinuously occupied Europeon settlement in the United States. Traces of the city`s Spanish heritage are everywhere, and a spanish Quarter where conquistadors once strolled is re-created for the 21st century visitors. Along St. Georges street 3 blocks from the marina there were many specialty shops, restaurants and beautiful hotels. Superb examples of the 19th century Spanish Renaissaince architecture can be seen here. The Flagler college now occupies the building and grounds of the Henry Flagler`s luxurious Ponce de Leon Hotel which was built in 1888. The hotel has been restored and has stained glass windows, Mosaics and sculpturs in the hotel.
