We finally untied from the mooring ball in Key West Winds are 6 knots out of the east and sea's are 0.7 meters. We fueled up at Key West Bight Marina and headed out the ships channel into Hawk Channel to start making our way north to our anchorage for the night at Bahia Honda which is approximately 40 NM north of Key West. We had a great day sailing and upon entering the anchorage you have to go through a bridge that they have removed one section out for sailboats to go through. When we got into the anchorage it is not what we expected. We found our spot dropped anchor and stood there in awe looking around. The anchorage is big enough for around 6-8 boats. There was a great beach with a half dozen Cabana's, a gift and snack shop combined. There was one other sailboat and a power yacht in the anchorage. When the sun set we had a long tall bridge on both sides of us and the anchorage was very tranquil. The sun shone on the palm trees and we had a relaxing gourmet meal and a bottle of wine. I can't recommend this as a way of life but it has worked for us.
