Almost finished
07 April 2012 | Indian-town Marina
Sherry, Warm, Windy & Overcast
We have arrived at our final destination. We are a few days earlier than expected but the marina fees here are half the price of where we were in Stuart.. We left Stuart shortly after 10 a.m. And passed under a 65' bridge and then got an opening for the railroad bridge the current was at least 6 knots and we had a hard time controlling the boat. We got through that and made it to our first bridge (54') our mast height is 52.9 to the top of the tri-color light a foot to spare ,we made it through the bridge and as we were coming out the other side the current and wind caught the bow of the boat and pulled us over a few inches causing us to hit the bridge light (marking the center of the bridge) This ripped our tri-color light off sending it into the St. Lucie river. And it also broke our wind vane (OUCH)(see pic in gallery), I guess that will be added to the To Do List for next year. What does it cost to own a sailboat? everything you have, and that’s the way it should be. Now we sit on the sea wall at Indian-town marina for a few days and wait for our haul out date of April 13. Glad we are here from what we see so far we really like it here.
