Boat Work
21 December 2012 | Indiantown Fl.
Sherry

We arrived in Indiantown Fl. on Sunday late afternoon and started shortly after arriving removing our boat cover and opening up the boat to air it out, as we had bug bombed it before we left as well as it smells like stale air and diesel after being closed up for 7 months. All was good below decks just the way we left it. Other boaters were not so lucky, some came back to the inside of there boat covered in mold (even though they cleaned with vinegar) others came back to diesel in there bilges etc. Although we have only been here a few days now we have made many new friends and have met up with our friends from last year Cathy & Robert aboard B&G from Ontario. The last few days have been spent doing boat work. Todd and I spent day one scrubbing the boat tarps. Day 2 we moved the boat over to the work yard and then spent the day running around getting materials. The last few days I have been removing years of varnish build up on the Teak outside and Todd has sanded the bottom to get it ready for new antifoul.. After dinner last night Todd hooked up and mounted our new flat screen TV Last night a cold front blew in and we were woke up at 04:00 hrs to the lines slapping on the mast, so we got up went outside and fixed the lines then laid the ladders down so they wouldn't blow over in the wind and then came back in and now I can't sleep, Hmm what to do, oh wait I'm on a boat there's lots to do.
The weather has been very warm, the temps have ranged from the 20 – 26 C except for today with the cold front coming in it's around 18 C. Now I know this sounds warm but it is very humid and the wind is blowing so it feels a lot colder then it is.
