Boat works still continue / New Stove
30 December 2012 | Indiantown Fl.

Today is Sunday December 30, 2012
The boat works continue, the stripping of the old varnish and getting it ready for the new is almost complete, at least what needs to be done on the hard, after that I will finish the rest while we are underway. My new stove arrived and Todd installed it( boy is she pretty) the oven is 1.34 cubic feet so I am looking forward to making some homemade bread etc.(the oven in our last stove never worked) now that sounds small but for a boat its big. (see pics). I have been stripping varnish for two weeks now and within the next few days it will finally come together. We had new name decals made and we have put those on. When it is complete I will post pictures of the finished work. What we are doing this year is bottom paint, all new varnish ( including the ships wheel)
polishing stainless steel, cleaning the hull and putting on a few coats of poly-Glow this will make her shine, Once the boat is in the water we will put our sails back on and all the canvas, scrub her decks down and put the final touches on her before we head out.
The weather has been quite good except for a few days like today which was cold and a few days prior which you could see your breath in the boat when you got up in the morning, it makes your morning coffee taste real good. The next few days will be much of the same work and trying to tidy up a lot of loose ends, it will be nice to see it come together and have our hard work pay off. There is a New Years Eve celebration here at the marina tomorrow evening, we will join in in the festivities.
