We left Suwarow this morning at about 0800. We'd been waiting for an optimal weather window for the 500 mile passage to Apia, Samoa - where I will fly back to LA and pick up my daughter, Piper. She will join us for a month and cruise Tonga. We've already scoped out some of the other kid boats, so she'll have some kids in her age group to hang with on occasion. Things are going pretty well so far with winds East by South at 20 knots. Since we are heading West, we've got the wind from behind and are making good boat speed, though the seas are a bit rollicking. The passage should take us about 3-1/2 days. It's a full moon tonight and all is well aboard.
