Upolu in Sight
03 October 2012 | On Passage
Mark
We've had a pretty nice passage, though the wind went fairly light on us yesterday and has remained light since. We are only 35 miles from our landfall and can see the island of Upolu, but have daylight slipping away within 30-minutes and so will have to stand off for the night. We'd doused the jib earlier and have been sailing under reefed main alone to slow down. If only the wind had kept up we'd be sipping cocktails at some Samoan tavern. Ah well. We'll stand off for the night and be the first boat in in the morning. Looking forward to a cheeseburger at Aggie Grey's tomorrow though, then I'm off in a jet plane to pick up my lovely daughter. Going to be strange putting on clothes again. :)
