Danny's first blog entry

Finally! We've reached the heat! The weather has cleared for the first time since leaving New Zealand and I finally get to wear my shorts! I was actually really surprised, when going through the squalls and storms, that the water that splashed over the side was warm. It was definitely something I am not used to only sailing in Alaskan waters. But finally I get to relax a bit in this lull that were going through. Its a fantastic beautiful night, the sun just dipped past the ocean line. A gorgeous sunset that was observed with a cold cola and some fresh fish that was caught only a couple of hours ago. This fish was a beautiful brightly colored Mahi Mahi that was splashing around in the sun as we dragged the line in. We cleaned it and now we have a LOT of fresh fish. I suggested some sushi but without the right rice, its just not the same. Instead we made some fresh seviche that I think will go well with some tortilla chips and a nice slab of grilled Mahi? We are getting closer to Fiji and the closer we get the more anxious i grow to get into that hot weather and dive in the warm ocean. Its so exciting to have the temperature rise everyday, and the water is actually warm to the touch, which is still a bit difficult to comprehend. But I think it might be dinner time soon, the first actual meal we have had in a few days! Happy days! Danny
