Spring Regatta, Fort Pierce Yacht Club
01 March 2014 | Atlantic Ocean off Fort Pierce, FL
Capt. Tom Lee
I had a WONDERFUL day as crew on a beneteau 42 sloop, racing in the Fort Pierce Yacht Club's Spring Regatta. It was a long race with fresh winds up to around 20 knots and 4 foot seas. Nice conditions. It was a staggered start where we were last boat to start by 25 minutes. In the first off-the-wind leg we followed the pack. However, once around the mark and on the final up wind leg, Capt. Paul ... put on the steam. In the end, we finished in second place. How good is that!
Tomorrow .... two more shorter races.
