Welding progress

Busy Friday and Saturday around here. Captain Mike spent them welding a hole in the front of the hull. It seems like there is little time to do actual work by the time everything gets set up to do it. But, now the biggest one is done which leaves two smaller ones. Hopefully they will get done tomorrow and Tuesday as work has to be done from the inside first; more grinding which means more of that irritating "rust dust". We have three days of really nice weather coming up starting Wednesday which is what we need to get the painting done.
Friday was really cold and I did not enjoy any of the outside work that I had to help the Captain with but yesterday was a little better. I did some grinding on a steel hatch that will cover the front hatch when finished. I also did some scrapping on the old paint as it has to come off before the new goes on. I enjoy this type of work as I can see the progress as I work and see that I am actually accomplishing something worthwhile.
Really looking forward to seeing the progress that should be made this week.
