Almost St Simon’s Island

Well the day started at the crack of dawn and before sunrise we and the only other boat in the marina left the dock. They were heading north, we south. It was cold and we were were all togged up for the journey.
Within 5 minutes I heard Penni ask which side she should use to throw up ?
I didn't have time to answer but with a 50/50 chance she chose the right side, downwind 🤮. After reluctantly expelling the shrimp and fries we had the night before, Penni spent the next few hours curled up with Timmy down below. She emerged around lunch time feeling a little queazy but much better!
It is surprising how much of the Georgia coast line is wild and uninhabited!
We pretty much sailed 50 miles without seeing any civilization except one or two passing motor cruisers and a couple of dredgers.
We crossed Sapelo Sound, Doboy Sound and Altamaha Sound and wound our way though the many miles of ICW between them. Penni is Chief Navigator, reading the waterway guide as we go and helping us navigate the shallows
We were hoping to make it to a nice marina on the south end of St Simons Island but time did not allow so we chose to anchor on the back of St Simon's Island and sail down to Jekyl Island tomorrow.
Beans on toast never tasted so good tonight, washed down with Gin and Tonic of course 🍸
Anyway that's all for now. Tomorrow is going to be cold, wet and windy so we will not be up too early.
