We sailed from lagoon anchorage Fraser Island across Hervey Bay last Wednesday with the hope of favourable winds. Wrong.... We had quite a lumpy trip motorsailing with the swell beam on. We arrived at the Burnett river and found our steering was failing so while hand steering into the river, Greg topped up the steering fluid to get us safely up the river. We have anchored offshore from our friends Dave and June who live on the riverbank. So while we have a "home base" we are getting the steering fixed and also ended up reconditioning our toilet system. Both essentials for the boat! As a point of interest we are opposite the rum distillery so have attached a pic. Hope to leave after the cold snap and head to 1770. Cheers to everyone! :-)
