I didn't intend to go to George Town during the Regatta , but that's the way it worked out . I expected crowded anchorages and traffic jambs ashore . However , I'm glad it worked out this way . My fears were unfounded . The anchorages were great . Their was a carnaval atmosphere ashore . And , the boats racing among the anchored fleet added great excitement . The boats were over canvased , kept upright by guys perched out on cantalevered boards . I enjoyed it immensely and was glad I came .
