This voyage from Cape Verde to BA is approximately 4,000 miles. Sometime during the night tonight, in a few hours, we will pass the approximate halfway point. Noon tomorrow will mark two weeks en route. That is not a bad record given that we had to transit the doldrums. We would like to complete the second half of the trip in the same time or less. Some of us have other things to do.

This is the longest time I have ever been at sea at a single time. Mark has done more and I think John has done more as well many years ago.. So far we are all doing fine. Could be we are eating too much. There may be an unspoken competition as to who can feed the others the best. So what do you think we will run out of first. We still have tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage, yam, onions, potatoes, apples , and eggs in the fresh food department. Milk and OJ are on ration orders. Critical is Butter. No permanent resident on this boat could have guessed how much butter three men need to thrive. The last pack is hidden in the freezer. My bet is that someone will go digging around in there to find it tomorrow. There is no possible way we will arrive in port with any butter remaining. Olive oil in the oatmeal or on the French Toast is not going to go down well with the boys. Will we divert to Brazil?
