Puttin' the pedal down, again!
26 July 2012 | Closer to Hawaii than SF
Kim
I'm not sure how our blogging is going volume or frequency wise, but we took it "easy" last night as we had a big squall come through right after dinner and decided to save our nice big heavy spinnaker for the remainder of the trip. It was relatively calm, had some highs and low winds. Billy was bored for the most part (TIC). I feel we are still in good position, but need to watch out for that "Brain Tiki" and not let anyone on the inside of us...so, we are puttin' the pedal down again! BrainTiki = Brainwaves after they photoshopped a new name on their boat to compete for the Tiki trophy in 2010! Great people, those Brainards! I slept hard this morning. How do I know? I was out through the entire sail change which is extremely rare for me, or any Worsham for that matter! I'm feeling good now and willing to take on the challenge for the next 3 days (approx. current projection give or take a few hours). Ken started an ETA competition on the white board yesterday. So far only he and Alyssa have participated. I'm not sure when all entries are due! I think it's been mentioned a few times before, but Alyssa is doing a fantastic job. I'm so happy she came along. I hope she remembers this trip as a good memory and not just a chore (or as we discussed when I didn't feel like driving - an unpaid internship)! I know when I sailed from Galveston, TX to Cozumel Mexico at 18, it was something that I always remembered fondly. Thanks again Alyssa! A shout out to my OE team - miss you guys and thanks for holding down the fort. I'm sure everything is going great. Thank you! After my pancakes, sausage, OJ and some blogging...better get my butt out on deck. Kim
