We're hopefully within 12 hours of getting this gorilla off our back, namely the 20+ knots of breeze and narly swell. Not much inside or out of the boat is dry at this point, so we're rearranging furniture to have everyone sleep aft where it is the most dry. Vince is swapping the dorades scoop for blank covers now, which in hindsight we should have done sooner.

Current predictions still call for a reduction in winds, but I'm thinking it'll be dawn before we're out of the woods. The upside is we've averaged over 7 knots under the #3 and double-reefed main (put that in this morning). We look forward to shaking those out tomorrow.

Extra:	2016 Update: The Year of the Kids! A lot of Worshams and those mental enough to be on a boat with them! In the Small World department, the Tiki J race crew, return crew (including Bill Sr) and shore support crew a.k.a. our extended families were saddened to learn of the passing of Charley [...] Dole in Hawaii earlier this year. Charley and the University of Hawaii collegiate sailing team stayed with us in Port Neches, TX during a regatta hosted by the Lamar University sailing team long ago (early '80s?) and we had several later occasions to stay in touch. Kim saw him after the 2010 Pac Cup when he was helming a J/24 in the local beer can race at age 90-something. We had hoped to see him again this summer. We will think about him often during the race and would like to lift a glass with others who knew him once we arrive in Hawaii. More
