Alright Alright Alright

14 July 2016 | 35 18'N:129 57'W,
Kim
As from our blog postings or lack there of, you can tell it has been "game on" - meaning steer and sleep. Day 1 is always the hardest to get out of the gate and into a watch rythm. The wind has stayed consistent and we met our goal of getting past the Farallone Islands (I will correct spelling later!) Unfortunately Scott and Vince were feeling pretty bad until today so we are one day off already of our meal planning (this is how I keep track of what actual day it is!). Wed - Day 2 we were powering through, winds consistent. Some huge waves...I'm glad I'm in a boat! Cody wrote in his journal Day 2, however typing is proving to be tough right now, so blogs will be short until we flatten the boat out. He comes out and accompanies the drivers during the day. Max has gotten into his new book series - both hard copy and audio, so has done a lot of reading already below deck. For my villa sport body pump friends -driving this boat is like a 2 hour class with warm up weights, left heal in the air, while doing dumbell bicep rotators - every other 2 hours. Needless to say I'm a bit sore! Day 3 has been a little easier with wind direction so can go "lower" by a few degrees. We hoisted the A6 spinnaker for about 10 minutes +-, when the clew on the tack blew. Needless to say I'm never happy with as much as these sails cost, when they tear. Hopefully we can get repaired in Hawaii as I think the guys may want to use on way back home.

BTW - our shift schedule for those of you who want to know: Scott:2-5a,8-1p, 6-10pm Brad: 1-4a, 7-11A, 4-9p Kim: 5-8a, 1-6p, 10-2am Vince: 9p-1am, 4-7a, 11a-4p

Signing off for now, made lunch so now late onto my long afternoon shift.
