Brad
Another day down, and we're almost under the 400nm mark. At the PacCup pace we'd be rolling into SF about this time Saturday evening. At our BacCup pace, it'll be an early morning flyby of SFYC and sunrise arrival at CPYC unless something changes.
I'm hoping we're over the wind direction hump (finally), and that the forecast persistent left shift has started and will continue for the rest of the trip. We've been closehauled under full main and #3 jib for the last 36 hours or so, and will shift to the genoa if/when the wind gets sufficiently aft of the beam.
It's funny how you get used to sailing terms and forget how foreign they can be to others. I was describing to Thomas how the "barber hauler" works amidst the wind/wave noise, and later he asked me about the "dog collar." "Dog collar" actually makes as much or more sense as "barber hauler" given the application, but we've all gotten many good laughs at the exchange.
It was MacNCheese infused with the last of the bacon for dinner tonight, which was served as fresh tuna came over the rail. I'll prob make one batch of poke tonight and another tomorrow morning. The fellas aren't tired of fish/fishing so we might arrive at the dock with fresh tuna.
