And it was all going so well…….right up until the wind failed……then turned north, leaving us slatting around in a residual force eight gale slop on top of a four metre swell. And no prospect of decent wind for another twenty four hours at best.

Now, we’ve cruising buddies who some years ago told us that when they sailed their Leopard car from Cape Town to the Caribbean his toothpaste tube stayed upright the whole way. Right now, I’m thinking Araldite or Superglue was in the picture. It was a wild ride.

So, back to Plan A and a visit to Luderitz. At least we could take back their sand which has covered the boat from stem to stern, masthead to waterline.

Consequently, we’re now on a mining dredger’s mooring in chilly Lud, heating on and wondering what to do next. Any motorcycle dealers in town?
