Water Maker installation

Last week the installation of the water maker started. It is an Eco-Sistems Splash-25, supplied by Sailfish Marine in Shamrock Quay Southampton. It is a job that I knew needed to be tackled in small bites. The picture shows the progress after a day and a half. I know you might say, how could that have taken you a day and a half but it did. We are lucky the boat was set up to take a water maker at build, with a dedicated spare sea-cock, and spare brine water outlets as well as a spare connection on the fresh water manifold for the Fresh water flush. What took time was cutting the irregular sized pieces of marine ply to form a mounting base and wall for all the equipment. I have now done a bit more planning and bought a few more fittings to get closer to completing the job but it is going to take a few more revisits before it is ready to turn on. More news on this later. Last week I came back with bruised ribs, stiff back and scuffed knuckles from working with my head down a hole and shoulders jammed in aft cabin doorway........welcome to working on boats.
