Day two of stripping the boat.
How things change.....
Monday : Hanging out in St. Croix, great dinner with Mary, Robert, John and Jack.
Tuesday : 45 NM downwind sail to Culebra, swim before dinner, Judy up at 3 am to connect with the the stars of the Southern Cross.
Wednesday : 20 NM downwind sail to Fajardo, Puerto Rico. Check in, spend 3 hours getting the dinghy cleaned up for storage, make multiple phone calls for service items.
Thursday : Initial wash down, diesel engine oil and filter changes initial annual gear purge, meet canvas people for new covers, first bilge clean. The trade winds stopped blowing for the first time in 3 months, so hot hot hot and plenty of overnight, morning and pm squalls.
Friday : Polish stainless, wash down decks and topsides with fresh water, soap and vinegar, service outboard, drop sails, pickle water maker, meet with boat electrician to fix faulty charger, start pulling every item out of lockers to evaluate ( keep, clean, toss, pack to keep or take home), wash out bilge, still no wind and hot hot hot, so collapse in bed early.
Saturday : Sails folded, bricked and bagged, battens out, toilets serviced, galley emptied and organized, first interior wood anti mold treatment, holding tanks flushed, barbecue cleaned and put away, set up for a 6 pm cocktail gathering to get rid of the smelly cheese from Guadalupe....hot hot hot, so collapse in bed after eating pizza with last fridge leftovers ( delicious ).
Sunday :Up at 6 again.....well woke up at 6, out of bed by 7. Last laundry, pull every item from galley to wash and stove, sort clothes ( vacuum pack to keep, pack to take home or toss ), wash down bathrooms, wash down bilge, wash down every wood surface with vinegar, empty all lockers and wipe down, stow sails, pull halyards, remove all canvas and store, remove wind generator and deck safety gear, fixed a couple of know leaks with silicone, pack, clean stove, shut down systems, hot tho hot and a very long day.
Monday : That is tomorrow, some last minute stuff, then haul at 10:30.
I probably forgot 20 items, not complaining, but putting the the boat away for storage is not an easy task
