First week on East Coast

Anchored in Beaufort, NC with Wild Horses grazing off the bow.
We are happy to report that the first sail on Tivoli went well.
After clearing Charleston Harbor we had a great sail on a deep reach for 200 NM to Cape Lookout. Winds between 12 and 25 knots had us going an average of 8 knots, sometimes with a reef thrown in for comfort and all systems were GO.
The anchorage in Cape Lookout was quite amazing and gave us a chance to get the dinghy up and running and teaching Scuppers how to do a dinghy landing on the beach. She enjoyed that.
The one negative development was that Scuppers helped herself to what we think was some styrofoam or some other skank from the dinghy packing and got quite sick with diarrhea, not a great thing on a small boat! After a couple of days we motored into Beaufort for a visit to the Vet for necessary treatment!
We have since enjoyed the anchorage and town of Beaufort, very charming...... We even got on a small tourist boat for a tour of the area and to see the wild horses that inhabit the area - we had to get out binoculars to actually see the horses on the tour, but it was fun. It was even more fun when we got back to Tivoli and a heard of 6 horses showed up 200 yards from the bow and had an afternoon snack!
Today we are off for Cape May, NJ, about 300 NM North.
