Another lesson learned

Well, not shutting the seacocks on the two sinks while sailing on a starboard tack has proved to be an expensive mistake! Not only did water need cleaning out of the oven gas pipe in Plymouth but seawater also managed to get into the battery charger in the aft port locker in the saloon. Result new battery charger needed - you would have thought they might have made them waterproof. As you can see there is not much chance of a warranty claim as the evidence is pretty conclusive. While fixing this at Noss (we needed shore power to test all was working) Nick also repaired the autopilot's rudder sensor which got knocked out of position by the new cover made to protect it. All was working fine until a tight turn to starboard approaching the fuel berth when the sensor came into contact with the case. Mark 2 case now in position so we shall see if this works as intended. Benefits of a testing spell on the water.
