Sailing again - great to be out

Back on the water at last - and a perfect day for the first sail for six months! Lovely sunny weather as Buzz and I headed out of the marina towards Sagres. The wind was blowing from the south around 10 knots and we shot past the cliffs where we often go for our morning dog walk - nice to see the view from the sea. Didn’t quite make it to our planned anchorage before the wind died at lunchtime so we hove to for lunch and coffee and waited for the north wind to build in the afternoon to sail home, getting back around half past three. Pleased to find out that I hadn’t forgotten which ropes to pull and just felt very good to have escaped the clutches of Lagos, if only for a few hours. Next big event is my first Covid vaccination on Sunday and then we will just have to wait and see. There are rumours that Lagos might be locked down again if infections continue to rise. Fingers crossed this doesn’t happen.
