It's very weird being here with Alcoutim on the Portugese side of the river and Sanlucar de Guadiana on the Spanish bank. In Spain it is twenty past nine in the evening or so my watch says but the iPad is working on Portuguese time and it's only twenty past eight. I guess it would be good for pub closing time if you were desperate as it only takes a couple of minutes to cross the river to get another hour of the day! Very quiet and peaceful with a few boats from all over Europe. Scott, who rents out moorings off Laranjeiras, told me that a good few people come and never leave - he has been here for eight years! He borrowed my spare Torqeedo battery to check whether it was battery or motor that wasn't working on his own model (it was the battery and a suspect solar charger looks like the culprit). Today I had a brief look at Alcoutim, tomorrow it's Sanlucar's turn.
