Happy New Year! The first working day back in 2022 was marked by a) the return of cold weather and b) Topaz Rival's mast coming down for the old Easireef system to be replaced. Hayling's yard staff braved the icy north wind and rain showers and in the couple of hours over the high tide at midday, managed to take the mast down and place it on tressels for Allspars to start work, hopefully next week. I don't know how they do it working outside in this weather - I was freezing despite popping into the cafe (reopened today thankfully) to warm up. One plus for the weather was a fabulous sunset - the picture is near Dell Quay where Buzz and I went for a walk this afternoon. Back on the berth, but mastless.
