The story of Topaz Rival

Across Christchurch Bay

At least this time across Christchurch Bay, all the blades of the propellor stayed attached unlike in September when one fell off in the middle of the crossing. In fact, the propellor was hardly used as we sailed the vast majority of the trip from Lymington to Poole Harbour before motoring up the channel to catch the 1930 town bridge opening. Topaz Rival was initially sailing with all sails up with the wind on the port quarter before the wind moved around to the south west and we close hauled from the end of the Needles channel. Buzz had a great walk this morning in Upton Country Park a short distance from Cobbs Quay Marina, where I hope to get measured up for a cockpit table tomorrow morning. Richard has now left for home and I will be sailing solo back to the Solent.
