Birthday celebrations

It’s been quite a few busy days, but I am now back at anchor in Culatra. Firstly, I went to Vilamoura to pick up Richard - and get the fridge water pump replaced. Then we had a fabulous sail down to Olhao with wind on the beam all the way, ripping along at more than 6 knots. Dawn arrived on Saturday in time for birthday celebrations on Culatra with Brendan and Brenda from Lir, the Irish catermaran who was opposite me in Lagos in 2020 and has since crossed the Atlantic and back. B & B convinced us to go up the Guadiana river for the few days Richard and Dawn were visiting so we left the following day for Ayamonte and then anchored off Alcoutim where Richard managed to catch a bus (or two) to Faro airport. Dawn and I stayed a few days in Ayamonte before coming back to Farol and then Olhao in time for Dawn to catch an early flight yesterday. And then we had the first rain for a long time as I left Olhao, but normal service has resumed today with the sun drying everthing out.
