The weather and wind are holding up pretty well. I will arrive on Thursday, still aiming for morning

The end is near

I don't mind saying this has been a long passage even though it's only 10 days so far. I'm now 420 milew from Antigua. The boat is sailing
well, I'm far enough east that I can lay St. Johns and I expect to arrive the morning of the 19th. Sea state is continuing to build, currently
10-15 ft, so that could potentially slow me down a little biut the seas are more towards the beam than the bow so they should not be a
problem and I have plenty of fuel. I'm pretty onfident of the ETA at this stage.

Good Wind

It looks like I'll have decent wind the rest of the way. Might even end up with NW winds on arrival which will be unusual. At the moment,
still using the engine to keep the speed over 7 knots. Got about 10 knots out of the NE, mostly sunny and warm, waves 1-2 feet - just
cruising along. I can start to see the end of the trip. There about 600 miles to go and I reckon I will arrive some time on Thursday, Nov 19.

All downhill from here

Things are looking good. Making around 7 knots ESE motorsailing. Right now the wind is SW at 8 in calm seas but I'm near the center of
the high pressure system and on this heading I'm expecting NE winds some time tomorrow. I'll stay close hauls on that wind until it shifts
around to the east and then I hope to b e far enough east to lay for St Johns. That's the plan - if it works I should be there in 6-7 days. If
not, then not. At least I'm finally making good progress in the right direction.

A plan has taken shape

AS I mentioned, I only have enough fuel to motor 5-600 miles in current conditions so I've been making the best out of unfavorable winds.
A high pressure system has come through bringing good weather and a more favorable wind shit to the south. Yesterday, we came only
50 miles closer but we made a lot of easting which is crucial once we pick up the trades for real. We're gonna ride this as far east and
witih as much south as we can get, then if the wind dies or goes foul, motor for a day until we pick up east winds. At that time, I'm hopeful
we can lay Antigua. If this all works out, I reckon 6-8 days until we arrive in St Johns.
